Role Introduction / Overview:

The candidate will be a member of Citi local German GAAP team and will support the complete quarterly production process till reporting to German regulators. Over Year End process also includes the support and the close cooperation with external Year End auditors and finalization of audited financial statements incl. disclosure notes and management report.

Business / Team Overview:

Citi local GAAP team supports a various number of legal vehicles and businesses. This included banking (regulated) and non-banking entities.

Job Purpose/Overview:

The Finance Reporting Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to provide regulatory analysis and reporting in coordination with the Finance team. Additionally, the Finance Reporting Senior Manager develops reporting and control procedures to accurately prepare information required for financial reporting and analysis. The overall objective of this role is to ensure business/department financials are prepared and delivered in a timely and accurate manner.

Some of the key responsibilities in the role:

  • Drive the production, analysis and submission of local GAAP financials to various constituencies (local regulators) based on requirements such as German GAAP, and local statutory reporting
  • Oversee closing the books and sub-ledgers, including passing appropriate required adjustment entries and consolidating financials at the end of each accounting period
  • Communicate with peers within the firm and externally, including regulators and professional organizations
  • Provide advice to internal clients on the implications of business trends, issues, operating environment changes, and firm or business unit strategy
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME for local GAAP questions to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

Development Value:

The candidate will be opposed to the full production of local GAAP numbers incl. the challenge to act as first point of contact for internal (business seniors, internal audit and other stakeholders) and external clients (regulators and external audit). The start into the role will be a training on the job with working more and more independent with own responsibilities.

What knowledge, skills and experience we’ll need from you:

  • Years of relevant experience within local GAAP Finance area.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • Ability to work with counterparts (also abroad) in different areas of organization
  • Ability to manage workstreams in parallel and multitask
  • Proven organization and time management skills
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills


Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
