Citi Treasury’s mission is to be stewards of Citi’s capital base and liquidity position by managing the firm’s ​Balance Sheet and Financial Resources including Capital, Liquidity, and Non-Trading Market Risk, which includes interest rate risk.

Business Treasurers provide leadership, focusing on asset/liability management, balance sheet planning, liquidity requirements and capital optimization.  Banking Business Treasury is responsible for the oversight of Banking businesses balance sheet with respect to asset and liability composition and targets, and capital activities.We partner with each business line in the development of business strategy to drive balance sheet and ALM objectives of Citi Treasury, transparency on returns as well as liquidity requirements and interest rate risk profiles, and to support business goals.

This team serves as the principal point of contact into Treasury for business and finance teams, ensuring that balance sheet priorities are considered in business decision-making processes. The team works with the segment LFO team to implement balance sheet allocation and costing processes, and the business and finance leadership to identify opportunities for balance sheet optimization.

Scope of Responsibilities

The Banking Business Treasury Senior Lead Analyst will require a broad understanding of institutional client banking activities and the impact of those activities upon Citi’s balance sheet.  Particular emphasis will be placed upon management of the institutional lending and commitments base generated by covered businesses.  Business units include Corporate Banking, Investment Banking and Commercial Banking.

Demonstrated analytical capabilities must highlight the candidate’s ability to diagnose issues and identify opportunities within a dynamic environment.  The Analyst will work with Product and Finance colleagues to shape institutional loan business development to maximize Citi RoTCE/RWA, optimize liquidity usage and revenue within overall balance sheet capacity constraints.  Objectives also include optimization of limited balance sheet capacity by currency, booking site and tenor.  The Analyst will identify capital/liquidity impacts of regulatory changes upon businesses and then assist with the integration of those impacts into business line strategies and client offerings.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Establish, monitor and adapt key balance sheet, net interest income, liquidity and capital targets in conjunction with Business, Client and Finance partners
  • Identify and analyze business line interest rate exposure including implications for institutional loan transfer pricing and associated hedge strategies
  • Analyze drivers of lending activity, including underlying macroeconomic drivers and analysis of client returns and concentration attributes
  • Manage Treasury engagement in the new product and activity approval process across covered business lines
  • Participate in activities related to Plan, CCAR, CLAR, Recovery and Resolution planning including associated modeling activities


Qualification/Skills

. Qualifications are to include:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a Treasury, Finance or relevant Business role where the underlying business serves institutional clients
  • BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or Math, MBA preferred
  • Developed skill base with respect to interest rate and liquidity management
  • Familiarity with recent bank regulatory developments including LCR, NSFR and GSIB
  • Experience with effectively analyzing Actual and Forecast results with a comprehensive knowledge of Transfer Pricing and other Intercompany items
  • Thorough knowledge of key Interest Rate Risk metrics (IRE, EVS) , working knowledge of Citigroup Financial Systems (PEARL / GENESIS / Etc.)
  • Collaborative orientation along with desire to interact with colleagues at all levels
  • Leadership orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to concisely communicate analytical objectives, observations and relevance of findings across the organization in written, visual (graphical) and verbal form
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint

    $125,200.00 - $187,800.00
