Citi is seeking an experienced industry candidate to operate in its Futures and Over the Counter (OTC) Clearing Sales Team

By joining Citi’s Prime business, you will be part of one of the world’s largest participants in Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD), as well as an established market leader in OTC clearing. We currently provide access to 70+ futures and options exchanges for our customers across a broad range of listed products, thanks to our unmatched international footprint and powerful trading capabilities, making us a liquidity provider of choice.

This is a senior level hire, reporting into the UK and European Head of Prime Clearing Sales, with the primary objective to drive the sales agenda and take responsibility for the origination of new clearing mandates. This is a unique opportunity to join a very successful sales team in a rapidly growing business, working with other cross regional sales teams to win, execute and monetise new mandates.

What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are:

  • As a key member of the desk, you will represent the firm at all external client events and meetings as a delegate for Citi’s Clearing Sales business.

  • Co-ordination with regional and global sales teams to delivery and execute on the European regional sales strategy. This includes applying knowledge and sales capability to cross sell into Markets and Equities products (e.g., Cash, Prime Brokerage)

  • Prospecting new clients and pro-actively pitching Citi’s Prime Services clearing capabilities.

  • Active client origination coverage responsibilities with senior clients in several key relationships, with the aim to drive maximum growth in revenue and profitability.

  • Advising clients on the implementation of different clearing strategies by applying your knowledge of clearing and market events and working closing with colleagues across Markets to increase franchise net profitability.

  • Understanding when and how to initiate escalation for tier one Institutional client relationships.

What we will need from you:

  • Experience of working in an external facing Client Relationship Management (CRM) or Sales role with excellent Futures/OTC product knowledge is essential, and candidates who do not have this will not be considered.

  • A strong knowledge of multi asset Prime Brokerage would be highly advantageous.

  • You will be expected to have a strong technical understanding of Futures/OTC clearing systems and vendors.

  • You should have experience in a client related role where you have successfully closed mandates off the back of excellent communication and collaborating with and leveraging broader teams across your organisation.

  • You will be a self-starter, who can prioritise, and time manage effectively in an environment that requires the ability to react quicky to events and multitask, but also ensure attention to detail is not compromised.

  • You should be educated to degree level and display a strong academic background in a finance or mathematical related degree.

This is a role that will position you in front of high-profile external clients and continue to develop your technical product understanding, whilst at the same time providing internal visibility across many of the Citi markets desks, through day-to-day interactions as you look to develop a career within Citi.

This assessment will be carried out through extensive interviews, self-disclosures, permitted criminal record checks, regulated reference checks, credit checks and other background screening checks.
