Citigroup Global Markets Inc. seeks an Investment Banking Senior Associate for its New York, NY location.

Duties: Advise on mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, and debt capital markets transactions in Latin America. Supervise and direct teams of Analysts and Interns in the execution of large-scale financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, and debt and equity financing. Assist senior bankers in idea execution for potential corporate transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, debt financings, and debt / equity offerings, by preparing extensive presentations that generally include comprehensive analyses that may include macroeconomic, political, and regulatory overviews; industry research, operating and financial benchmarking and competitive landscape; intrinsic and market-based valuations; and overview of potential transaction opportunities. Work through internal workstreams to allow Citi to get engaged, such as Know-Your-Customer requirements, Anti Money Laundering checks, engagement letter drafting, and other internal processes. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation in the investment banking industry. Three (3) years of experience must include: Providing financial advisory services to both large-cap Latin American corporations and international large-cap clients looking to transact with a Latin American-based counterparty across M&A, Debt Capital Markets, and Equity Capital Markets; Producing comprehensive macroeconomic and/or political summaries of different Latin American countries, including, economic growth, monetary policy, labor market, international trade, and political/regulatory framework analyses; Building, developing, and maintaining industry mappings, competitive landscapes, and/or operating/financial benchmarks for a broad set of industries throughout Latin America in the context of M&A, Debt Capital Markets, and Equity Capital Markets; Building, running, and interpreting financial and valuation models of Latin American companies with an understanding of how to manage currency exposure, inflationary environments, political uncertainty, and low liquidity in order to explore the abovementioned corporate finance solutions; Analyzing and interpreting financial statements of Latin American companies, with a clear understanding of local accounting rules and of adjustments required to employ corporate finance techniques; Leading sell-side and buy-side transactions through a clear understanding of M&A processes, including engagement letter drafting and negotiation, client/counterparty interaction, marketing materials production, financial models production, company due diligence and transaction documents review; and Utilizing financial data platforms including FactSet, Bloomberg, MergerMarket, Dealogic, Inframation, and SDC in the context of Investment Banking analyses. 40 hrs./wk. 10% domestic & international travel required.
